ASSESSMENT RESEARCH OF EDUCATION STRATEGIES AND INTERVENTIONS ADOPTED IN JORDAN IN RESPONSE TO SYRIAN CRISIS

ASSESSMENT RESEARCH OF EDUCATION STRATEGIES AND INTERVENTIONS ADOPTED IN JORDAN IN RESPONSE TO SYRIAN CRISIS
The overarching research question was: To what extent have the education interventions introduced in Jordan in response to the Syrian crisis proven effective in ensuring equitable access to quality formal and non-formal education for refugee children, consequently fostering inclusive learning and social cohesion?
The core objective of this consultancy was to examine historical and current policies relating to education for refugees in Jordan. This involved an in-depth examination of literature authored by both national and international organizations. The goal was to comprehensively scrutinize and assess the array of policies, interventions, and their resultant effects on the education landscape.
This consultancy resulted in the production of two reports:
- Younes, M. and Morrice, L. (2019): The Education of Syrian Refugees in Jordan: Summary of Demand-side Constraints and Interventions. Centre for International Education and Development, University of Sussex, Brighton UK.
- Younes, M., and Morrice, L. (2019): The Education of Syrian Refugees in Jordan: Issues of Access and Quality. A review of policies and initiatives (2012-2018). Centre for International Education and Development, University of Sussex.
