SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF INEE EVIDENCE PLATFORM

The primary objective of the consultancy was to provide support in establishing the ‘INEE Evidence Platform’. This platform had several key aims: to map existing and ongoing research projects and partnerships; to contribute to a comprehensive understanding of evidence in Education in Emergencies (EiE) on a global scale; to ensure new research aligns and interacts with pre-existing evidence; to prevent duplication of research efforts; to optimize the utilization of resources by addressing research gaps; and to facilitate collaboration between academics and practitioners for practical research application. This platform was designed to cater to diverse stakeholders, including INEE members, partners, EiE practitioners, policymakers, academics, and researchers. Additionally, experts and practitioners focusing on improving girls’ and women’s education, such as INEE’s Girls’ Education Reference Group and the INEE Secretariat on gender, significantly influenced the project’s direction.

To fulfill these goals, the following tasks were undertaken:

  • Mapping existing and ongoing research, along with identifying current evidence gaps, including insights garnered from INEE Learning Agenda Consultations.
  • Creating a concise report that highlights significant evidence gaps.
  • Organizing and facilitating a series of consultation meetings involving INEE members and external stakeholders to ascertain the platform’s target audience.
  • Developing a market research document that encompasses 3-5 key user profiles and provides insights into existing platforms and potential functionalities and designs.
  • Formulating a sustainability plan for the evidence platform, outlining strategies for its enduring functionality.
