RESEARCH CONSULTANT: CONDUCTING A CURRICULUM MAPPING FOR THE REPLICATION OF E-LEARNING SUDAN IN SYRIA AND LEBABON

Supporting the replication planning for eLearning Sudan (ELS) by mapping the official mathematics curriculum in three countries: Sudan, Syria and Lebanon. The main purpose was to determine if/how a Sudanese-focused project could be tailored to additional countries. Undertaken tasks included:

  • Developing a brief matrix for curriculum mapping against the eLearning Sudan game.
  • Developing similar matrices for the Accelerated Learning program or other formal out-of-school curricula, as well as the traditional school curriculum, in Sudan, Lebanon, and Syria.
  • Analyzing the three curricula, particularly identifying similarities or differences in content and approach, and assessing how these factors relate to the eLearning Sudan game. The primary focus was on understanding how these factors would impact the potential replication of the project from Sudan to the other two countries.

This consultancy’s final outputs included

  • A report on the methodology, review of key documents, and a data collection sample.
  • A detailed report and map showing the specific similarities and differences between the three country curricula.
  • Recommendations drawn from combined knowledge of the Sudanese curriculum and eLearning, indicating potential candidate countries for ELS replication. Critical considerations were identified for the adaptation of ELS to suit these countries.
